Beginning Monday evening (Sep. 19, 2022), WKAR television experienced an equipment failure that affected all five TV channels. Viewers experienced signal blackouts and erratic channel and program data.

UPDATE: Tue Sep 6, 4:30pm | Maintenance work at our broadcast tower has been completed. All over-the-air services were restored as of approx. 3:20pm.

Wed Jul 27 7:15pm all services restored by 6:14pm.

Feb. 15-17. Work is taking place this week to bring improvements to WKAR-TV broadcasts.

On Wed., Nov. 10, WKAR NewsTalk moves from 105.1 FM to 102.3 FM. The move will provide followers of NPR and Capital Region news from WKAR with a clearer signal in the current broadcast area.

WKAR TV and FM will be briefly off the air or at low power for portions of Wednesday, Oct. 20, for scheduled maintenance at the broadcast tower.

WKAR AM 870 will be off the air for portions of Tuesday, Oct. 19, for scheduled maintenance at the broadcast tower.
